Alex - meet Liam
Alex went to the Prodigy gig in Oslo last night, and through a stroke of good fortune, got to go backstage and meet the gang and have a quick chat about music and the industry. Pic will follow. :)

Today I stole from a fellow musician
Today I spent almost two hours trying to find some way to purchase a song that was released ten years ago on a major label, on a single, on a remix album, on a separate second remix album and as a maxi-single. It was completely impossible. I couldn’t find the song anywhere, and it totally blew my mind. Not Amazon MP3, not iTunes, not anywhere else. So then I went searching for the single....

Transistorbass mentors The Gathering
Both Bent and Alex from Transistorbass will be present at The Gathering, the worlds largest computer party, this easter. We will be acting as “mentors” for young and aspiring musicians, teaching them how to get the most out of todays digital tools as well as a few tricks-of-the-trade. If you are attending The Gathering, be sure to sign up for the mentor-programme!
Transistorbass-track in a new demo
Our friends in the excellent demo-group XPLSV made this really cool “Tron”-inspired invitation for the Blockparty demoscene event in Cleveland, Ohio this April. They wanted a track from Transistorbass to build upon, and therefore the tune “Zenith” was born. Most likely it will be available online in a short while, but we want to tweak the mix a bit first.
Check out the...

Transistorbass creates game trailer soundtrack
We were recently asked to make a track for a game teaser, which is now released - please check it out! The game is called Perpetuum, and it is a massive online multi-player game featuring robots, railguns, rockets and teleports - how cool is that?!
“Perpetuum is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. It takes place on the distant planet of Nia, the discovery of which...

Listen to Trashin' (Elektrostat 2008 walk-off...
So, we got some requests from people who wanted to know what the last track we played at Elektrostat 2008 was (the one we played while walking off stage). It is a track called Trashin’ and it features (almost exclusively) the wonderful piece of kit called the MIDINES which allows you to use the sound-chip in the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System - you know, that box you had under your TV in...
TAL - free VST(i) plugins that are actually good
Do you know of TAL (Togu Audio Line) already? If not, you should. They make a suite of very nice VST and VSTi plugins that you can use in your sequencer of choice (Logic, Sonar, Acid, Cubase, ProTools etc.)
Our favourites include the U-No-62 (a very nice Juno-106 clone) and the BassLine (a sweet SH-101 clone). You can get some great sounding stuff out of these small (and again: free!) plugins,...
Here it is — a video of our gig at Elektrostat 2008. Please forgive the bad audio quality, as we didn’t have time to get equipment for proper recording, so the audio is a mix from the heavily distorted microphone on one of the video cameras and the line-mix. Rest assured: it is not your speakers or headset being slaughtered. :)
Anyho, we wanted to provide this for the people who asked...
Video coming
We recorded a pretty bad (sound-wise) video of the gig at Elektrostat, and will be posting it (or at least some of it) as soon as the capture/editing/blah is done. It will of course be posted here when it is done.

Gig setup (next friday, be there!)
We worked on the stage setup for our gig next friday (Elektrostat Festival, 7th of November, 20:00, main stage) and we think it’ll work out well. We will be tweaking our bigscreen visualization stuff this weekend to see how we can integrate it into the performance as fluidly as possible. It’s going to be a challenge, but it will be fun :)
We will also be using the Atomizer-feature on...
Hobnox Audiotool
Want to play around with an 808, a 909, a couple of 303’s and a bucketload of stompboxes..? Online..? For free..? In Flash 10? You just HAVE to check out Hobnox Audiotool, the coolest online musician tool we’ve seen. Ever!
Playing at Elektrostat Festival
We just got a mail confirming our gig at Elektrostat Festival (annoying Flash audio warning) in Oslo. We go on stage at 20:00 on friday the 7th of November. This is the main stage, on the first day of the festival, so be sure to be early if you want to catch us kicking around beats and bass on stage. :) We will most likely be playing for 45-50 minutes (TBC). Later in the festival you can catch...
New track online
We have put up a new track - head over to our MySpace-page to listen to it. It is called “Imperator” and is an up-tempo big beat track with both tech-beat, hip-hop, drum’n’bass, glitch and trance references (yes, it is indeed possible to mix all of those - or actually.. why don’t you listen and decide? :)

Regus Ademordna is a real-time motion graphics experiment, featuring the track “Distortion Reigns Supreme” which is also the title-track from our first EP.
vloud →
vloud has to be one of the better ideas for an online service. After e-mail, photo sharing, chats.. and such of course.
Basically, it’s an online DSP that boosts the overall volume (probably through the use of a limiter with some dynamic compression on top) of your MP3-files.
We’re not quite sure exactly what parameters it uses, or what kind of material the three options work best on...
We can has website
Our gig at Elektrostat 2008 is coming up and we thought it would be a good idea to maybe boost our online presence a bit, to let people know who we are and why they should bother listening to us.
You know - all that jazz.
